Hon’ble Speaker, Goa State Legislative Assembly, Goa Shri Pratapsingh Raoji Rane, born and brought up in Goa, graduated in Science from Pune University and obtained Business Management degree from USA. He has occupied several coveted posts such as Cabinet Minister, Speaker and Chief Minister of Goa state. He firmly believes in diversified horticulture activities and practices integrated farming systems. He has demonstrated increased productivity and profitability by resorting to scientific cultivation of fruit and plantation crops. Due to his constant persuasion and untiring efforts, farmers in Goa have totally stopped shifting cultivation and taken up cultivation of cashew on a commercial scale.
