Eligibility for different Categories of Fellowships

The four categories of the fellowship and their criteria and induction methods are given below:

1. Corporate Fellow: The Academy has made a provision of Corporate Fellowship since 2007. The fellowship is open to industries/companies & organisations engaged in promotion of Horticulture. The corporate fellow is required to contribute a token amount of Rs. 5.0 Lakhs and is conferred a certificate. A corporate fellow enjoys the privileges of a Fellow of the  Academy.

2. Honorary Fellow: This fellowship was initiated to honour any Indian citizen associated with R&D organization, NGO, private sector, industry, progressive farmer group, SHGs, cooperatives etc. who have significantly contributed towards the upliftment of horticultural research and development in the country. The nominations(s) are invited from the fellows and approved by a committee.

3. Foreign Fellow: With the object of recognising Indian scientists working abroad, this fellowship was instituted to induct scientists and who have contributed significantly in R&D in any sub-disciplines of horticulture and allied areas. The nominations(s) for the same are invited from the fellows and approved by a committee.

4. Elected Fellow: The Academy recognizes the contribution of its members through the award of Fellowship every year from amongst the scientists working in the field or horticulture and allied sciences. Fellows are recognized on the basis of nominations from the existing fellowship of the Academy. Fellows are inducted after evaluation of their R&D contributions by a committee and subsequent approval of the utive Council. Life members of the Academy up to the age of 65 years were eligible for induction as fellows.
