Progressive Farmer, Naseem Bagh, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar is an innovative and progressive fruit grower from Naseem Bagh, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Contribution of Mr. Dar in temperate fruit production is exemplary. Innovations in the area of good horticultural practices, pruning & training and scientific grading, packaging and marketing of temperate fruit crops is noteworthy. He has raised high density orchards of temperate fruits in a very scientific manner and following good horticultural practices. He is professionally very sound in pruning and training operations and disseminating his knowledge to other fruit growers in the region which has resulted in increased production of quality fruits in that area. Sh. Dar has apple, cherry, peaches, plums, apricot and pears orchards in Rangil, Ganderbal in an area of about 20 acres. His innovations and dedications has resulted in production of around 50 tons of ‘A’ grade apples from approximately 20 acres land. Sh. Dar is following scientific grading & packaging and marketing his produce for realizing higher returns. The efforts of Sh. Dar in the dissemination of advance technologies of temperate fruit production were well appreciated by the fruit growers and State Departments at several occasions.
