Dr S.K. Bhattacharjee

Former Project Coordinator, AICRP on Floriculture, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi

Dr Bhattacharjee standardized agro-techniques in ornamental crops, plant propagation and postharvest technology of cut flowers. He served as National Leader of ornamental crop research and development, prepared research programmes on various ornamental crops and monitored the research work on floriculture and ornamental crops in India. He guided several M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in floriculture as a Chairman. He has also taught agriculture in a reputed missionary school and under-graduate classes in the Universities. He published about 400 research papers and popular scientific articles in the journals of national and international repute and contributed chapters in several books. He is the author of 20 popular and informative books. He has also written 15 bulletins on Ornamental Crops. Dr Bhattacharjee was the Vice-President of the Indian Society of Ornamental Horticulture. He is recipient of several awards viz. Fellowship of the Indian Society of Ornamental Horticulture, Rising Personalities of India Award of the International Penguin Publishing House and several other awards of Friendship Forum of India and India International Friendship Society.
