Chairman & CEO, Sahyadri Farmers Producer Company Ltd., Nashik, Maharashtra Mr. Vilas Vishnu Shinde comes from a family village Adgaon, Nashik, Maharashtra. He completed his Post Graduation in Agricultural Engineering from MPKV, Rahuri in 1998. He pursued his career in practicing scientific agriculture in 2004 and started Viticulture on 2 acre area and began exporting his produce to Europe. He was instrumental in setting up of the farmer’s cooperative with 10 like-minded growers and exported several containers. In 2009 his cooperative emerged on the largest grape exporter groups. This success encouraged his cooperative to venture into intensive cultivation of several other crops like Mango, Melons and Pomegranate along with vegetables. At present his group has over 70 acre state-of-the-art vineyards with several exotic varieties. His FPO, The Sahyadri Farmers Producer Co. Ltd. is one of the most successful ventures managed by 1,200 fruit growers having modern Viticulture on 500 acres. His groups established a state-of-the-art post-harvest facility comprising packhouse, ripening chambers, cold storage and ware houses. He is life member of five professional societies including the Horticultural Society of India.
