Chairman, Jain Irrigation Pvt. Ltd. Born to a farming family, he promoted the adoption of PVC piping systems for irrigation, replacing the outdated openchannel furrow irrigation. He founded a Public Corporation, to pioneer Drip Irrigation and there by harbingered a new era for conservation of scarce water resources and also for achieving higher yields, early maturity, better quality and increase in cropping and irrigation intensity. In 1993, he introduced a variety of tissue cultured banana known as ‘Grand Naine’. This has multiplied the farmers’ yields opening avenues for export of fresh bananas. By heralding cutting-edge modern agricultural technologies such as Drip-Irrigation and Tissue Culture, he provided crucial assistance and impetus to Indian farmer leading towards self-reliance. He offered ‘Total Solution’ from Waste-land Reclamation to sustainable Hi-tech agriculture. His work was appreciated by government with DSIR Award for ‘R&D efforts in Technology absorptions’ and also for ‘R&D efforts in Agro-Industries Sector; AIPUB’s Nalla Vazhai Award for ‘Outstanding contribution in popularising Drip and Fertigation in Banana Tissue Culture Plants’ and CFBP’s Jamnalal Bajaj ‘Fair Business Practices’. He is the first Indian and second Asian to have received this award in past 20 years. Other national awards include FIE Foundation Award ‘for Innovation in Agriculture & Management’, IIIE’s Hon. Membership for ‘Professional Achievement and Eminence Recognised Nationally’.Mr. Jains purpose is to earn a ‘place of pride’ for Indian Agriculture by improving e productivity and conserving resources with the help of efficient technologies His creations are attracting farmers & others not only from India but from different continents of the world. He is lovingly called Bhoomi Putra – Son of the Soil.
