The first meet of the type was organised on November 6th, 2006 at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana on the theme “Need for Horticultural Research & Developments in Northern India”. In this meet, over 300 farmers from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir including 70 scientists from different R&D institutions from NARS participated. About 25 progressive farmers shared their experience and highlighted the issues to be addressed by the researchers change by the Govt. or prefaces required.
The second such meeting was organized during the Fifth Congress on
Horticulture for Food & Environment Security held at Ludhiana, Punjab on 9th November, 2012 in which over 400 farmers, 50 KVKs/ State Govt. Officials and 150 ICAR scientists participated. The suggestions that emerged during the discussion were sent to the State Govt. and ICAR for consideration. Successful progressive farmers and entrepreneurs were also felicitated during the occasion.

The third such meeting was organized during the Sixth Congress on
Horticulture for Inclusive Growth held at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on November 9th, 2014 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex co-hosted by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. This session was attended by over 400 farmers representing Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Goa and was changed by Dr S.K. Malhotra, Hort. Commissioner, GoI.

The fourth meeting was organized during National Conference on Temperate Fruits & Nuts Research – Status, Potential and Strategies at Srinagar, J&K on 8th November, 2015. The session was attended by about 200 farmers from different regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and was chaired by Dr K.L. Chadha, President, HSI.
